Personal Finance Education, Made Personal.

Picture
Seven units comprise
the PATHS curriculum:

- Managing a Paycheck
- Paying for College
- Credit and Credit Cards
- Buying a Car
- Buying a House
- Income Taxes
- Retirement Planning

The framework for each unit is standard, establishing a familiar routine for students and ease of management for the instructor.  A course-long budgeting project ties the units together, with each student having an opportunity to choose a future occupation and location to personalize the content.  Throughout the course, students investigate each of the unit topics from their own unique perspective, composing a balanced budget along the way.

What it Is.  What it Isn't.

PATHS Personal Finance Education is a collection of up-to-date instructional notes sets with corresponding assignments and activities, complete with formative and summative assessments, organized by unit and tied together with a student-centered budgeting project.
PATHS Personal Finance Education is not a text-and-workbook package, nor is it an on-line program wherein students work through lesson modules to complete a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
